lyrics
“What the fuck happened?”
Exclaimed a barbered bearded white man
“Downtown has gone to destitution.”
He says while a shattered soul
Echoes calls for help by his favorite pub
As the cold concrete caves offer
Measly shelter to hold them up
“Spare a dollar? I just need a little bit to get by.”
We react with disgust and dismay
To fevered chills
And quiet cries
No solution for this grandiose crisis
The privileged cry “Property is priceless!”
People are locked in a loop of failure
Reinstituted with the key of a jailer
The arbitration never ends
The bureaucratic nightmare rages on
The sweeping of the streets
The cycle repeats
The sanctions are growing
They can’t fucking winDOO
They can’t fucking win
They can’t fucking win
They can’t fucking win
They can’t fucking win
They can’t fucking win
Destined for destitution
They can’t fucking win
Destined for destitution
Ordained at the hand of authority
Doomed for dereliction
A pawn played by the palm of politicians
Destined for destitution
Condemned by their clout
Doomed for dereliction
With no goddamn way out
If this came through your feed, you're probably like "Way to go dumbass... You didn't have this shit already??" 😂🤣
I'll have you know I am buying this album once again (for like, what? the 4th time??) to pick up the new sick "sea blue gel" vinyl variant of this modern classic. Jfc Earache Records still knows how to grab my money, even after all these years haha. Have a feeling "Hiss" will be near the top of my Albums of the Decade list when all is said and done. What an absolute masterpiece. bcb723
The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire
The Alberta crushers hold tight to their rank, astral-gazing grindcore, staring down abyssal torment all the while. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 31, 2020
